Is Dessa on Hugging Face?
The official introduction checked on October 26, 2026 does not link to a released Dessa model repository or downloadable weights on Hugging Face. A model or voice preset that shares the name is not evidence of a release by Block. Follow a repository only after the developer links to it and states its license.
What is actually available?
Block publishes recordings of conversations with Dessa and invites a small group of AI safety researchers to request early access. A playable recording is evidence of a selected demonstration, not general access to the model.
Is the Dessa Voice Model Open Source?
The official page does not specify a public software license, downloadable weights, or an open-source release date. Local inference and open-source availability are different things: a model can run locally without having a publicly licensed release.

Check the publisher, release documentation, software license and hardware instructions before installing any model or tool. Do not treat an unrelated voice preset named Dessa as this research model.
