Dessa AI API Availability
As of October 26, 2026, the official introduction describes a research model and selected safety-researcher access. It does not provide a public API reference, authentication procedure, SDK, rate limits, or commercial service terms.
Why there is no API example here
There is no published interface to build against in this source snapshot. Integration examples will be added when the developer provides an endpoint, authentication method and documentation.
What an integration would need
For any future real-time speech service, evaluate audio formats, transport, interruption handling, simultaneous input/output, latency measurements, consent, retention, and pricing. These are evaluation criteria, not confirmed Dessa API features.
Can developers run it locally?
Block says the model can run faster than real time on a MacBook Pro M4 Max or better. It has not published a public installation procedure on the page we checked. A hardware claim is not a downloadable SDK.
A practical API evaluation checklist
When an official interface appears, test overlapping speech, whether an interruption cancels or changes the answer, recovery after network loss, and retention of audio across sessions. Measure end-to-end response timing over multiple exchanges rather than selecting one fast clip. These are our proposed tests, not results or promised features.
Safety-research access is not a public API
The developer’s early-access form is aimed at safety researchers and asks for a name, institutional email and an optional Google Scholar or blog link. This website does not collect applications or submit information to the research team. An application form is not proof of acceptance, immediate access or commercial API availability.
Where to follow access changes
Our release-status page records the availability information checked for this edition. No public API endpoint, SDK or authentication guide has been established here. This website does not sell a third-party Dessa API.
