Start a live conversation
Open Live Talk in the studio, sign in and choose a subscription. Select a voice, conversation mode and language, then choose Start talking and allow microphone access. Use headphones if you hear echo. A modern browser and a stable internet connection are required.
Five ways to talk
Everyday conversation helps you explore an idea. Language tutor gives gentle corrections during practice. Mock interview asks questions one at a time. Storyteller lets you shape an interactive story. Your own setup lets you describe a role and goal in up to 600 characters. These modes guide the conversation; they do not guarantee professional advice or an assessment.
Voices and languages
Choose from eight live conversation voices. Use automatic language detection or select English, Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, Korean, French, German, Spanish or Portuguese. Voice and language remain fixed during a call; end the call before changing them. Speech-generation voices are selected separately in Text to speech.
What a call costs
Live Talk uses 20 credits per connected minute, billed in 6-second blocks at 2 credits per block. A 30-second call uses 10 credits. Connected silence and muted time count, so end the call when you finish. The final credit cost is shown after settlement and in Account. The same monthly balance also covers text to speech.
Monthly usage and call length
If used only for calls, Starter covers 33 minutes per month, Pro 100 minutes and Max 205 minutes. A single call can last up to 20, 45 or 90 minutes respectively, subject to your remaining balance. Annual subscriptions refresh credits monthly. Compare subscriptions and credit packs.
Microphone, captions and privacy
Microphone access starts when you start a call. Captions can help you follow the conversation, but transcription can make mistakes. The studio does not save a call recording in your audio library. Audio and responses are processed by the configured service; see the privacy policy for processing and retention information.
If you cannot connect or hear a reply
Check that microphone access is allowed, your output volume is on and another application is not using the microphone. Keep the studio visible while talking: leaving the page or hiding the tab ends the call. If the connection drops, check Account for the final cost before trying again. Browser support, interruptions and response speed depend on your connection and device.
